This was was my very first self-published book as an Indie Author. Therefore I still call it my little baby. I wrote the story itself in one weekend, from start to finish. And it took about a month to get through several drafts, proofreading and editing. I published it as is, and even though I have found a few errors in the final manuscript which was uploaded and made public, I haven’t fixed it. It serves as a reminder to me that I did my very best at the time. Read more about my love for this book in this blog post.

RSVP Plus One came from the age-old question: ‘can men and women be just friends?’ In my twenties, I had more guy friends than girlfriends. Simply because I couldn’t be bothered with drama. I lived in England in my early twenties, and having guy friends often had its perks – I wasn’t hit on by men at bars or in clubs, when I just wanted to have a drink or go dancing. And – yes, I always ‘had a date’ if I was invited to a big event. It served its purpose in my twenties. I write more about my inspiration for this book over here.

Oh, Richard! I do love this book (not as much as Hearts in Edinburgh – but I think I love all my stories equally, but differently – if that makes sense). If you don’t know Ed Sheeran, and you don’t know his music, may I suggest you pop on over to iTunes, Spotify or Amazon Music and download his albums: Multiply as well as Divide. Some of the songs in both of these albums was my inspiration for Richard 2.0 – and so I can only recommend you listen to the songs before reading the book. Or vice-versa – it’ll work both ways. When you do that, you will understand and you will message me to tell me why you loved my book! For more on my Ed Sheeran fixation, and why his music brought life to Richard 2.0 – check out this post.

Not going to lie: this was a difficult to write. Not only are my characters in the medical field, but the story is also set in Boston, USA. I was halfway through writing my first draft, when I realised that I was still writing in ‘British English’, rather than American. Not only in terms of spelling (‘colour’ = ‘colour’), but also calling a sweater, a jumper. I had to make a quick decision: complete the draft first and then go back and make those changes; or go back and make those changes first.

Red Carpets & Wellingtons is currently available on various platforms. This was a labour of love, but also sweat and tears went into the making of this, my first full-length novel. I took my time developing the characters and researching Henry’s career. I wrote a blog post about my journey in creating the fictional town of St. Trias as well as pouring my all out for this book. I had the idea for this book in 2016. My characters were pencilled in and I knew I wanted to one day allow the world to read Jessica’s and Justin’s story. I’m super excited about this one, as I have already received some amazing feedback from my beta readers. I hope this story warms your heart and that you can somehow to relate to the characters as well. Please do leave your honest review over on Amazon after you have read this book. I do enjoy reading what my readers write too. Check it out over here.

This story popped up when I realised I was about to turn 40 myself. I had school friends who were also going through this phase in their lives, and for some reason, Grace’s story grabbed me one day as I was enjoying a cocktail — poolside. I wanted to see how she would feel going on this journey at her age, and I really enjoyed creating her love interest, Callum. There is a lot of push and pull between these two. And when you include the colourful side characters, I hope you can appreciate my attempt at pushing all the feels in this novel. Heartstone Lodge is now available over here.
If you’d like to purchase your own digital copy of any of the above book or start your very own Gretchen Wolf Paperback collection, please head on over to Amazon and order today (Paging Dr. Wells is only available in digital format). Leave me a review and send me a message to tell me what you think. I love hearing from my readers and appreciate any and all criticism.
With love from the sandy beach in The Bahamas,
