Richard 2.0

I happened upon Ed Sheeran’s music one night when I was awake with insomnia. I had stopped trying to get any sleep and hopped onto Spotify to explore some playlists based on my recently played tunes. ‘Perfect’ by Sheeran popped up and I played it. I simply loved it. I decided to check out the full album – Divide and I played it on a loop about three days after that. When I had a free moment – again one night during a bout of insomnia, I googled his other albums and purchased Multiply.

The idea for Richard 2.0 came after about a week or playing Ed Sheeran’s music in my home. I was taking a long bubble bath one night listening to the song: Thinking Out Loud. And just then, the story started developing in my mind. And I knew I wanted to explore the idea of ‘second chances’. But I didn’t just want my main characters to meet, fall in love, breakup, and then get back together again. I needed something crazy to happen, like (SPOILER!!!) my main character having amnesia and not remember his first love.

I really liked the story, once first draft was completed. Richard was an arrogant ass, but only because he was covering up his insecurities. And Charlie reminded me of a loquacious red-head girl I met in Scotland.

If at all possible, read this book with Sheeran’s songs playing in the background. I’m sure someone has covered them on the piano (without lyrics). And when you have finished this love story, hop on back to Amazon and leave me a review. It will be much appreciated.

You can download Richard 2.0 over on Amazon, if you haven’t already gotten your copy.
