Authors sometimes do this on their socials to garner interest in their upcoming releases. And though I will probably post something similar over there, I know I am limited in what I can type up and just how much my followers actually read before just ‘liking’ the post and moving on. I know this because I do the same. If there is too much to reading on an Instagram post about a character or the relationship-trope, I move on—often without hitting that like button.
So, let’s get on with some teasers for the first book in my new book series, Porto Proposal, which will be released in April. As the title suggests, it is set in Porto. If you haven’t been, put it on your bucket list now—like, right now. The city is bustling with a vibrant culture, delicious food, and some of the warmest, kindest people I have met on my travels.
Back to the story, though…
You may think this is going to be a meet-cute trope because it’s a closed-door romance. I’ll bet you’ll rethink that when you have given it a read. Yes, our male lead is a charming, handsome Irishman with penetrating grey eyes and a strong physique. But as the author, I can honestly say those things don’t compare to the flirty ramblings that come out of his mouth. Think I’m lying? Well, how about an excerpt from the first book, Porto Proposal…
She looks at him and can tell he is a little the worse for wear. “Burning the midnight oil already, I see. You don’t waste time, do you?”
He bites his bottom lip and shakes his head. But that brings on a slight ache in his head, and he winces, “It’s going to hurt in the morning.”
She giggles, “It’s already morning.”
The lift pings its arrival, the doors sliding open, and Amira walks in and turns around. Cillian leans his hand against the wall beside the lift and looks at her leeringly, “I should probably wait for the next one.”
She cocks her head to the side and looks at him curiously.
He leans closer, putting his hand on the door so it doesn’t close. “You are ridiculously sexy. And I’m drunk.” His eyes trail down her little black cocktail dress. “I don’t trust myself in my current state to be in this confined space with a beautiful woman.”
You can pre-order Porto Proposal right now and have it delivered to your device on April 8th. Head on over to Amazon or check out this link for all other platforms.

As always, I am forever grateful for the support and love my readers send me. Whether you like a post on my socials or slide into my DMs, I appreciate all your kind words. I can’t wait for you to get your hands on all four of the Offshore books coming this spring!
Until next time, Lovelies,
Gretchen W.
