I can’t believe I have already submitted my 3k word short story for the third Writer’s Playground contest and I have not yet uploaded my second submission to my blog!!!
So back story – for those of you who don’t know – I’ve been entering a short story contest over on Writer’s Playground since their inaugural contest last year. They are now reading submissions for the third competition. What is the competition I hear you ask? Well, you have 10 days to write a short story of no more than 3000 words. You are given five characters and must choose one. Also five settings and you must choose one. You are given 1 phrase that should be in your story. Now the character doesn’t have to be the main protagonist however, should play a big role in the story.
For my first submission, please go here. This particular story gave me all the feels and the feedback I received made me want to continue submitting my stories for these competitions.
This time around, I was given five characters and settings to choose from. Please feel free to click this link and read The suit in the drunk tank…
Let me know your thoughts in the comments below. I appreciate any and all feedback – it’s the only way to grow in my craft!
Take care,
Gretchen W.
